Version 1 · Effective [date] · Last updated [date]

The short version — the text below is what binds, not this

CopyTrades today is a paper-trading terminal. Every fill you see is simulated against market data and labelled as simulated. We hold no user funds and no user private keys, so there is nothing of yours in our hands to lose.

Nothing here is financial advice, and simulated results are not a forecast of anything. If real custody or live execution ever launches, you will be asked to accept a new version of these terms before any real money can move.

01Who we are and what this is

CopyTrades (the “Service”) is operated by [Entity] (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [contact email]. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the terminal at copytrades.ai, the public demo, and the APIs behind them.

By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy, and you acknowledge the Risk Disclosure. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

02The Service is a simulation today

The Service lets you watch public on-chain trading activity, configure copy rules against it, and see the fills those rules would have produced — simulated against market data and settled in a paper vault with no value. Concretely, in the Service’s current mode:

  • No order you configure is ever sent to a real venue, and no real trade executes.
  • No user funds are held, deposited, staked, lent, or moved. There is no deposit address and there is nothing to withdraw.
  • Simulated fills are labelled as simulated wherever they appear, including in the demo and in the activity ledger.
  • The demo creates a temporary account with a paper balance. It expires on its own and its balances cannot be converted into anything of value.

Balances, profit-and-loss figures, and portfolio values shown by the Service are accounting entries in a simulation, not claims on assets.

03No custody

The Service does not custody digital assets and, in its current mode, holds no private keys on your behalf or its own. Any screen, figure, or flow that implies otherwise is part of the simulation described above.

If custody or live execution is introduced, it will be governed by a new version of these Terms that you must affirmatively accept before any real asset can move, together with separate risk disclosures specific to it.

04Simulated performance is not a forecast

Simulated fills assume execution at observed prices and cannot fully model the costs and mechanics of real trading — slippage, liquidity depth, market impact, MEV, fees, latency, and failed transactions among them. Trader histories, replay packs, and backtest-style outputs are reconstructions of a past period, not predictions of a future one. The Risk Disclosure states this at length and is part of these Terms by reference.

05Eligibility

You may use the Service only if:

  • You are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to contract.
  • Your use is lawful where you live, and you are not located in, or a resident of, a jurisdiction where products of this kind are prohibited or where we are barred from offering them, including any jurisdiction under comprehensive sanctions [prohibited-jurisdiction list].
  • You are not the subject of economic sanctions and are not acting for anyone who is.

You are responsible for knowing and following the laws that apply to you.

06Accounts and passkeys

Accounts are created with a passkey (WebAuthn). Your biometric or device PIN never leaves your device and is never visible to us; what we store is a public key, a credential identifier, and a signature counter. You are responsible for the authenticators and devices that hold your passkeys and for activity under your sessions. Sessions expire within 24 hours.

Provide accurate information if you choose a display handle, and do not impersonate a person or project you are not.

07Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, including market manipulation or fraud.
  • Abuse the demo — for example by automating session creation or evading its rate limits and budgets.
  • Scrape, harvest, or resell the Service’s data or output at scale, or in a way that degrades the Service for others.
  • Probe, attack, or interfere with the Service, its infrastructure, or its other users — including attempting to access another account’s data.
  • Misrepresent the Service’s simulated figures as real, executed performance.

08Intellectual property

The Service, its design, and its brand are the property of [Entity] and its licensors. Public blockchain data belongs to no one. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service as intended, and nothing else.

09Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time; demo accounts expire on their own and their data is deleted automatically. We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of these Terms, for abuse, where the law requires it, or to protect the Service or its users. The sections that by their nature should survive termination — disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law — survive.

10Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults and without warranty of any kind, express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that data shown by the Service — prices, trader histories, simulated results — is accurate, complete, or timely, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Nothing on the Service is investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice, and nothing is a recommendation or endorsement of any trader, token, venue, or strategy. Labels and scores the product computes (including any “vetted” badge) are data pipeline outputs, not recommendations. No fiduciary relationship is created by your use of the Service.

11Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [Entity] and its officers, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or trading losses — arising from or relating to the Service, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if advised of the possibility.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of US$100 or the fees you actually paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim — a figure that, in the Service’s current free, simulated mode, is zero. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. New versions are posted on this page with a new version number and date, and for material changes we will make reasonable efforts to give notice in the product. Your account record stores the version you accepted. By continuing to use the Service after a new version takes effect, you accept it; if you do not accept it, stop using the Service.

13Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes arising from them are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [venue], except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
